Andrés & Doriña

It´s not just the beautiful hostel you have created that makes it such an enjoyable stay, but the kindness and helpful assistance you two and the workers share with the unknown traveller. Other hostels should take a note from Andoriña. All the best. Thanks a lot. Steven (Australia)

What a great idea to start with the ecological box lunch and all the other products like the honey in a lightweight pot. I´ll have something great to remember the coming weeks !

Samaipata ..... what a beautiful and peaceful town ! After 6 weeks it feels more like home than just a place to visit. Surely I´ll miss the mountains, the people and atmosphere of Andoriña, the fresh fruits and the lovely hammocks. Many thanks Dora, Andrés, Marleny, Marina, Estefanie, Patricia, Saul and Carmelo for making my stay as a volunteer so wonderful. I don´t think that there´s a place like this in the entire world.

Catherine (US)

Thank you so much for a wonderful 3 nights stay, you all have been very friendly and helpful. Thanks also to biologist and guide Saul for a great hike through the mountains.

Kiri and James (NZ)

Lieve mensen,

10 Months into a year around the world, we stumbled across this, one of our favorite places. A nice relax in Samaipata and some great adventures in the Yungas cloud forest with guide Carmelo.

Alex & Sarah (UK)

Hearthwarming, welcome, inspiring, advising, original, open minded, colourful, beautiful, friendly, healthy food, integrating, reliable, abundant, helpful, homely ........... Thank you Andrés, Doriña, Saul, Marleni, Carmelo, Marina, Patricia and Estefanie !

Mijn geboortedatum ! Wat een gevaarlijk hotel. Je komt er niet meer weg ....... Goede info en gidsen, leuk terras en heerlijk ontbijt. Geweldige herinneringen !

Anouk (Utrecht)

Thank you all for making this world a better place ! Impossible to forget.

Normally words flow from the fount so easily that I have to remind myself to take time to observe the beauty that surrounds us all of us all the time. However, my 4 weeks stay at Andoriña has taught me the importance at relying on reality (and the people in it that know and feel more) to infuse every breath with love and life. I´ve never found a place with such a mixture of vibrant life, culture and nature, and nor could I ever imagine a place more in harmony. All the people I´ve met here have had a tremendous impact on the core of my being. From the laughter, sorrow, the youthful energy, the poverty, the richness of the soil, the jagged edges of stones in the river, and most of all the beauty that nature has bestoned in all the plants, animals and people of Samaipata (and the whole region). I have learned more than any words can describe. I´m grateful to have walked here. Thank you everyone.

Andres & Dora,

It was really a great time here. We only planned to stay for 2 nights in town, but as your hostal turned out to be so cozy, the juices and cakes so tasteful and the area so beautiful, we stayed 4 nights. I'll never forget my first horseride with Yannick and Silvia up and down the hills with our wonderful 13 -year old guide Juan. We love your cats, the hammocks and the tasty pancakes. Your hospitality was great, as well as the open-minded local people, we felt really at home. Beds to stay in all day. We'll recommend your place anywhere possible. Thanks burning our 'monton' de fotos on CD and we'll hope you'll enjoy the Amelie soundtrack. Say hello to Rolando and the people from Toby Hamburgesas. Hopefully we'll return some time. In this sense... hasta pronto!

Los Suizos, Yannick & Ivo

Dear Andres and Dora,

Thanx for everything ! Your place is indeed a little paradise and I think it will be a recovering place for animals in the future as well ! Or it already is ! (in that time we had a little street cat and two wounded parrots, red.). I had breakfast with Pulga on my lap every morning and I hope the parrots will recover soon.. You are wonderful people and the next time I come to visit Bolivia, I expect a little kid, ha ha ! Maybe I'll bring mine. I wish you all the best and thanx a lot for the wonderful stay in Samaipata ! Oost-West-Andoriña-Best Véél groetjes,

Mélanie (Netherlands)

Sweet love ! I have a pre-paid ticket taking to Buenos Aires or I would have stayed here for about, errrm, a year. It's ridiculous relaxing, such a nice feel + so chilled out. Allright ! Would definitely recommend it to anyone and to the guidebooks. A job excellent done on the décor, amazing photos, lovely friendly hosts and juices to write home about. A very good place to recharge the batteries + to prepare for a fortnight of parties. Dank u !

Yvonne, Derry (Ireland)

Avril & Marly

Andres & Dora,

Thank you both very much for your hospitality and kindness. I stayed here only one day more than planned (great self-discipline) and enjoyed great walks and sunshine, good advice - the fruit salads were great.
I hope you'll find good homes for the five kittens and that they don't end up on the barbeque as Andres suggested.

Anna Candy (UK)

After travelling 2 ½ months in Bolivia, we decided to spend our last days in Andoriña - Samaipata. We slept in dozens of hostals and camped at awesome places, but this hostal is definitely the most attractive, personal, creative - a real feel-good place - we visited during our travels, and more: it fits in our adventurous budget (read low-budget) ! The breakfast is the best we ate (included !), the juices taste really nice on the sunny terrace or on the patio, having a nice chat with Andres and Dora. After a real 'asado' and a nice milkshake we head for Peru. The hike to Bella Vista was a real surprise, being in such nice unexplored scenery.

Andres y Dora,

What a beautiful place you guys have set up here, and what better place than in the middle of paradise, huh ? Bella Vista was amazing and the images of the dense greenery intwined with wicked eyes of that rattle snake will remain in our minds for many years to come ! All the best for the future ! PS. I will definitely come back as a yoga instructor as long as I can have these fruit salads in the morning !!

Special persons and a special place. Las Cuevas is a good trip with amazing views and valleys. Being back your place is a nice place to relax and your juices are the best. Thanks for this nice day !!

No cambies!

Maribel, Birenbéne, Sandrine

Hoi Andres,

Thanks for these beautiful moments of relaxation and enjoyment of nice music, the magical beauty of nature and people, and delicious food !

Fantastic milkshakes (but don't let Andres hear if call him the milkshaker man !!). Had an excellent day in the Giant Fern forest, shame about the weather. We were made really welcome & thoroughly ejoyed our short stay in Samaipata, thanks to Doriña and Andres !

Andy, UK, but actually NL

Nina & Steve (Norway/Australia)

Thanks for a great stay ! Andoriña has a great atmosphere, we'll definitely recommend it to others. Wish we could stay longer.

Nina & Steve (Norway/Australia)

Five Poles ‐ aged between 53 and 70 ‐ were here for three days and three nights, it is definitely too short to explore all wonderful places around, but we managed to enjoy some of them. We have appreciated very much this place. Dora was very helpful in organizing our logistics, and Don Gilberto is a really reliable guide at very reasonable price. All in all we will leave Samaipata very much satisfied with this stop on our Brasilian-Bolivian-Paraguayan tour.

Tomatz & Friends

I plan to tell everybody I meet in Sucre about how wonderful Andoriña is, something about the atmosphere, such lovely music, the healthy mineral water from your piece of forest, good food, clean spaces ‐ I really enjoyed just doing not much here ! Thank you for making me feel at home !
